Marinara Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 bunch basil
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 can tomato paste
- 28 oz plumb tomatoes
Recipe
- Heat olive oil in a 2-quart saucepan. Once hot, cook chopped onion until tender and then add minced garlic. Cook for one more minute.
- Stir in basil, salt, and sugar and cook for another minute. Then add the tomato paste and plumb tomatoes. Watch your heat, lower as not to burn.
- Cook for about 20 minutes or until thickened. All the while continuing to stir.
