Miss Donna's Southern Tomato Pie

Ingredients
- 9-inch pie crust
- 1.25 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cups mayonnaise
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 cups onions (sliced very thin)
- salt
- 5 large tomatoes (roughly chopped, remove juice)
- 3 tsp basil
- 1 cloves garlic (minced)

Recipe
- Prepare your 9-inch pie crust as per your crust recipe.
- Prehead the oven to 350F.
- In a small bowl mix the grated cheddar cheese, the mayonnaise, the hot sauce, and ground black pepper. Set aside in the fridge.
- Place the onions in the bottom of the pie shell. Lightly salt the prepared large tomatoes and spread them over the onions. Sprinkle the basil and garlic over the tomatoes. Now spread the cheese mixture over everything.
- Place in the oven and bake until brown and bubbly approx. 35 minutes.
- Let stand for at least 5 minutes before serving.
