Marinara Sauce

Cookware
- 2-quart saucepan
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 bunch basil
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 can tomato paste
- 28 oz plum tomatoes
Instructions
Step 1
Heat olive oil in a 2-quart saucepan. Once hot, cook chopped onion until tender and then add minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute.
Step 2
Stir in basil, salt, and sugar and cook for another 1 minute. Then add the tomato paste and plum tomatoes. Watch your heat, lower as not to burn.
Step 3
Cook for about 20 minutes or until thickened. All the while continuing to stir.
