Quiche

Ingredients
- 9 inch pie crust pastry
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 1/2 cups Gruyere or Emmenthal cheese
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half and half cream
- 1 tbsp bacon grease
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Instructions
note: Optionally add minced peppers to onions and bacon at the start.
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450F.
Step 2
Pre-bake 9 inch pie crust pastry for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Fry bacon crispy and crumble. Cook diced onion until transparent, about 5 minutes. Drain.
Step 4
Place crumbled bacon and onion into pie shell. Add Gruyere or Emmenthal cheese on top.
Step 5
Combine eggs, half and half cream, bacon grease, nutmeg, and pepper. Pour over mixture in shell.
Step 6
Bake at 450 F for 10 minutes, then reduce to 350 F for 15-20 minutes.
